Pink Trauma

"Pink Trauma" is a collection of artworks exploring the childhood experiences of two gay boys growing up in the Italian and Serbian/German suburbs of a big city. We often heard that pink is a color for girls and that men should engage in or watch violent sports. In this series, we merge these two imposed ideas of masculinity. We depict acts of violent sports using only pink tones. Additionally, in our smaller still lifes, we feature protective gear as subjects to symbolize femininity and the healing of trauma.
